No other president would have risked β really, no previous leader would have conceived β solo demolishing large sections of the executive mansion in order to erect a Versailles-style party room, with the active collaboration of some of the nation's most affluent, the majority of whom conduct transactions with federal agencies.

As confusing as it is to watch the leader seek toι’ θ¦ the old idea regarding democracy and replace it with its polar opposite, there is one large group of Americans who should not find it completely novel. That is those of us β within elder demographics a near majority β who were educated within mainstream Protestant traditions.
We have watched throughout the years as politically conservative religious groups turned the Jesus we grew up with into exactly the opposite of our understanding of him. Essentially, they transformed an image of affection into a figure of animosity who endorses exactly the harshness that he criticized in scripture; this has happened more gradually, across decades as opposed to months, but it is nonetheless disturbing in the same ways, a bewildering emotional blow for numerous individuals.
A Toxic Christianity Takes Hold
Therefore allow me to outline the Christ that I grew up with, as conceptually Jesus is the center of any Christian faith, and because the rapidly expanding group within America might have little sense of him because they identify as skeptics or uncertain individuals or spiritual independents. The obvious and clear reality that Christ from scripture advocates for a form of radical love concentrated on the impoverished is what has always made Christian religion something of a provocative belief system: appealing to the populace, but owing to its natural unconventionality demanding to be contained. In the 1950s it was controlled through watering down β Protestantism was so widespread that it basically blessed current circumstances.
A Conflict for the Finest Among Us
Hence I have become inspired to witness the determined opposition against Trump emerge in this past year.
